A visit to a Candy store...sorry I meant a bookstore

Yesterday I went with my sister Maria Elena and my mother to a bookstore near the house. I was so tempted by all the authors to buy every book..but just the thought of how much money I will have to pay for extra pounds to the airline made me re-think my purchases. The writers were frowning but I was strong! The only comfort I had was that both my sister and mami bought each a book. Maria Elena bought a book by Japanese author Haruki Murakami named Sputnik Sweetheart. I will read it as soon as I finished the Glass Castle...almost done eating it! My mother bought the latest from Mario Vargas Llosa, winner of the Nobel Prize in Literature this year. The book is El Sueno del Celta / The Dream of the Celt. I might have to buy this one in Spanish as a way to keep up with the language. Airport purchase probably...

A must share this bit just because of the eloquence and beauty of the statement: This is what the Nobel Prize organization said about the award to Vargas Llosa:
"The Nobel Prize in Literature 2010 was awarded to Mario Vargas Llosa "for his cartography of structures of power and his trenchant images of the individual's resistance, revolt, and defeat".

Traveling makes the best time for reading.

Hello fellow book readers,

As suggested by some of you, I am reading the Glass Castle...I cannot put it down! It is going to be interesting to see how Jeannette Walls new book " Half Broke Horses" stacks up to this one.

Looking forward to our first meeting in January.

What are you reading?
